We are looking for two new members of the Board of Administration of Gebäudeversicherung Luzern

Gebäudeversicherung Luzern (GVL) is an independent public-law institution of the Canton of Luzern. It protects people, buildings, and assets from the financial consequences of fire and natural hazards. Furthermore, it is involved in prevention as well as fire services.

Board of Administration

The Board of Administration is the supreme strategic management body of Gebäudeversicherung Luzern (GVL). It determines the strategic direction, exercises supervision over the management of the executive management, and bears responsibility for the long-term development of the organization.

As of 1 July 2027, due to two resignations, the following seats in the Board of Administration for the term of office 2027 to 2031 are to be filled as follows.

Member of the Board of Administration (Finance, Investments and Risk Management)

Member of the Board of Administration (Property Insurance and Reinsurance)

Your tasks at a glance

• Determination of strategic goals and priorities
• Supervision of the management of the executive management
• Issuance of regulations and other basic requirements
• Approval of annual financial statements and annual report for the attention of the Government Council
• Accompanying important developments and future topics of the GVL

Your profile

• Experience in strategic leadership or supervisory bodies
• Ability to assess complex issues from a holistic perspective
• Understanding of Public Corporate Governance and the management of public-law organizations
• High credibility, integrity, independence and sense of responsibility
• Strong social and communication skills as well as the ability to constructively bring together different interests
• Networking in business, administration or politics
• No active activity in the executive management or a strategic position of a primary insurer

Member of the Board of Administration with a focus on Finance, Investments and Risk Management

• Sound knowledge in finance, accounting, controlling and capital investments
• Experience in Risk Management as well as understanding of governance, compliance and control issues
• Experience in public-law organizations or a regulated environment is an advantage

Member of the Board of Administration with a focus on Property Insurance and Reinsurance

• In-depth knowledge of property insurance with a focus on property insurance and reinsurance
• Understanding of insurance-technical connections as well as customer, claim and benefit processes

Election process

The members of the Board of Administration are elected by the Government Council of the Canton of Luzern for a term of office of four years.
