System Engineer - MFT, EDI & Email Security 80%-100%

We are a specialized IT company with fewer than 10 employees and focus on the areas of Managed File Transfer (MFT), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) and Email Security. As an IT reseller and solution provider, we accompany our customers throughout the entire lifecycle - from technical consulting and conception to implementation and integration, through to operation and support. Our solutions are often a central component of our customers' IT and business processes. Accordingly, technical quality, reliable implementation, clean communication and professional handling of customers and partners are important to us. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a System Engineer who technically accompanies our customer projects and implements demanding integration and infrastructure tasks together with our team. As a System Engineer, you are part of our technical team and take on a central role in the implementation, integration and support of our solutions. You work both independently and in a team and have direct contact with our customers. In doing so, you move at the interface between applications, infrastructure, networks and business processes. Depending on experience and interest, you will increasingly take responsibility for your own customer environments and projects.

Your area of responsibility

Engineering & Project Implementation

• Planning, installation, configuration and commissioning of our software solutions
• Technical implementation of MFT, EDI and Email Security projects
• Integration of our solutions into existing enterprise IT infrastructures
• Implementation of interfaces and system integrations
• Configuration and connection of communication partners, applications and peripheral systems
• Accompanying migrations, upgrades and system expansions
• Carrying out technical tests and acceptances
• Analysis and optimization of existing system architectures
• Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and operating concepts

Troubleshooting & Support

• Analysis and rectification of complex technical malfunctions
• Systematic troubleshooting at application, network and infrastructure levels
• Analysis of logs, system messages and communication processes
• Support with incidents and problem management
• Cooperation with manufacturers and their 2nd and 3rd level support
• Technical support for our customers in ongoing operations

Customers & Projects

• Direct technical contact person for our customers
• Recording and analysis of technical requirements
• Development and implementation of solution approaches
• Technical consulting for our customers and support with architecture decisions
• Participation in the planning and execution of customer projects
• Coordination of technical tasks with customers, partners and manufacturers

Your technical background
You have a solid technical basis and enjoy familiarizing yourself with complex systems and new technologies. Ideally, you bring experience in several of the following areas:

Systems & Infrastructure

• Windows Server and/or Linux
• Virtualization and basic knowledge of modern infrastructure platforms
• Active Directory and basic identity concepts
• Network and infrastructure components
• Backup, monitoring and system management

Network & Communication

• HTTP/HTTPS/AS2
• TLS/SSL and certificate management
• Firewall and network fundamentals
• SFTP/FTPS/SSH
• Understanding of secure system and data communication

Integration & Automation

• REST APIs and Web Services
• Security in handling XML, JSON, CSV and other structured data formats
• Scripting and automation, for example with PowerShell or Bash
• Understanding of data flows and system integrations
• Knowledge of EDI processes and common EDI standards is an advantage

Security

• Basic understanding of IT security concepts
• Encryption and certificate management
• Basic understanding of security best practices
