Your tasks
Increase the security of the canton: In this role, you will undertake operational and engineering tasks in the environment of the cantonal cyber security infrastructure with a focus on Firewall, WAF, Proxy, SASE (ZTNA, SWG, CASB), DDI, Remote-Access solutions and cloud integrations.
Exciting projects in the Cyber Security domain: As part of our Security Engineering team, you will develop and optimize new solutions together with our customers, be responsible for their continuous further development and, together with our partners, ensure stable operations.
Ensure Service Operations: Participation in the rotating operational responsibility (Incident, Change and Problem Management) as well as on-call and special assignments are also part of your area of responsibility and are ensured in close collegial cooperation within the team.
Make Security Services future-proof: You will actively help shape security architectures, standards and operating models, ensure high quality and service standards and continuously further develop stable as well as future-proof security services for the cantonal infrastructure.
Targeted expansion of knowledge: We specifically support your development potential and promote your further education. To this end, you bring an interest in new technologies as well as the willingness to continuously familiarize yourself with further security topics and actively expand your knowledge.
Your profile
Experience: You have sound experience in the engineering and operation of Firewall, WAF, Proxy, SASE, DDI, Remote Access and cloud integrations. In Solution Engineering, you develop tailor-made and customer-oriented solutions.
Personality: You work independently, structured and customer-oriented. With analytical thinking skills, a solution-oriented way of working and enjoyment of knowledge exchange in the team, you find appropriate answers confidently.
Education: You have a higher informatics degree or basic IT training with sound practical experience. Relevant security certifications underline your current and practical specialist knowledge.
Language: You communicate objectively and appropriately to the addressee in German and have good English skills. You apply the technical terminology of cyber and information security confidently and purposefully.

IT BS is the internal informatics service provider of the Canton Basel-Stadt and belongs to the Finance Department. The department provides the collaboration and communication infrastructure for mobile and stationary IT workstations and the associated support.
