The Population, Security and Airport department assumes many essential missions for the smooth functioning of the municipality. It is notably responsible for the management of ambulances and firefighters, inhabitant control, naturalization, Sion airport, trade police, coordination of events as well as fire protection. In order to strengthen its team, the city of Sion is putting up for tender the position of Fire protection specialist with AEAI federal diploma M/F ### activity rate 80-100% ### with the Population, Security and Airport department. Main missions ### Within the Population, Security and Airport department, you ensure the implementation of fire prevention measures on the municipal territory and perform tasks relating to fire police. In this capacity, you are notably called upon to : • analyze building permit requests from the angle of fire protection and establish the necessary preliminary opinions ; • control fire protection measures during works and during the reception of buildings ; • participate in the issuance of occupancy permits in collaboration with the relevant services ; • inspect buildings, businesses and temporary installations, and prescribe the measures necessary to comply with legal requirements ; • analyze files related to events and perform the required controls ; • advise citizens, professionals and institutional partners on fire protection regulations ; • collaborate closely with the various municipal services, cantonal authorities and external partners. Your profile ### • CFC in a building field or technical training related to construction, accompanied by administrative work experience ; • federal diploma of AEAI fire protection specialist or training/experience allowing its attainment ; • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar function within a public administration or a private company ; • confirmed experience in administrative management and the processing of complex files ; • very good knowledge of the construction field and ability to read and interpret plans ; • good mastery of administrative procedures and legal bases related to the position ; • ease with IT tools, notably the MS Office suite ; • experience with eConstruction constitutes an advantage ; • ability to work in a team, to defend a position with confidence and to represent the municipal authority with credibility. Also constitute assets : • training as a works director or architect ; • a title of fire protection expert ; • experience as a manager within a fire brigade ; • knowledge of German.
