Head of Department Roads

In this versatile role, you will actively shape the public space of Küsnacht. You will plan and coordinate road space, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects, bringing different interests together. In exchange with the municipality, the population, planners, companies, utilities, and authorities, you will ensure viable solutions and their professional implementation.

Your tasks

• Technical and personnel leadership of the department with two project managers
• Planning and coordination of road space, civil engineering, and infrastructure projects
• Management of total renewal projects with utilities, cantonal specialist departments, and neighboring municipalities
• Further development of the department with a focus on climate-adapted road space, sponge city principles, sustainable drainage, and digital planning
• Central contact person for partner organizations, the population, and authorities
• Quality assurance, monitoring of deadlines and costs in the supervised projects
• Coordination of external engineering, planning, and construction partners
• Deputy for the Head of Department Wastewater

Your profile

• Education as a Civil Engineer ETH/FH
• Experience in project management as well as in the management of civil engineering, road construction, or infrastructure projects
• Interest in public construction projects, mobility, and sustainable infrastructure
• Knowledge of processes and procedures in public infrastructure projects
• Enjoyment of design, coordination, and interdisciplinary cooperation
• Structured, pragmatic, and independent way of working
• Confident appearance in exchange with the population, authorities, and external partners
• Sense of responsibility, initiative, and service orientation
• Interest in digital processes, modern working methods, and sustainable infrastructure
