Shape the future of human-robot collaboration
In the Software Department, you will shape robotics solutions that redefine the collaboration between humans and machines. You will work with state-of-the-art technology and set standards that change the industry. In doing so, you will not only develop our solutions but also set new trends and drive innovations. In an agile and interdisciplinary team, you will work on exciting projects. With clear Scrum processes such as Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, and Reviews, you will remain flexible and efficient. Close cooperation with other specialist departments enables you to develop software solutions that are convincing not only technically but also practically. Here you will find an environment where creativity and technological excellence go hand in hand. If you want to make ideas a reality and enjoy taking technologies to a new level, exactly the right challenge awaits you in the Software Development Team at NEURA.
Your Mission & Challenges
Become part of NEURA Robotics and take responsibility for system-level testing and verification of 4NE1, our humanoid robot. You will ensure that complex interactions between mechanics, actuators, software, controls, and embedded systems are thoroughly validated before release. Unlike a classic electrical or mechanical testing role, this position focuses on the overall system behavior, reliability, robustness, and verification strategy of a humanoid robot. You will help build and continuously improve our testing and quality control methodology, define scalable verification processes, and co-develop internal test frameworks and infrastructure. This role is ideal for you if you enjoy building test systems, developing structured validation processes, and translating the real-world use of robots into meaningful verification activities.
What we can look forward to
System Validation & Test Strategy
- You are responsible for the entire verification and validation strategy for 4NE1 at the component, subsystem, and total system levels
- You define and maintain test plans, test coverage, acceptance criteria, and release processes
- You derive test cases from system requirements and ensure traceability throughout the entire development cycle
- You work closely with the teams for mechanics, software, control, autonomy, and safety to ensure comprehensive system validation
- You provide objective release recommendations based on test results and risk assessments
Quality Control & Test Process Development
- You continuously design and improve quality control procedures for robot testing in development and production
- You define scalable test workflows, reporting standards, error classification schemes, and verification processes
- You establish testing best practices that can be applied consistently to future platform generations
- You drive improvements in test efficiency, repeatability, and automation
Test Execution & Error Analysis
- You plan and conduct functional, endurance, environmental, reliability, and integration tests
- You validate robotic subsystems such as actuators, joints, gears, sensors, control systems, and complete robot assemblies
- You conduct thermal, endurance, motion, vibration, and robustness tests, where applicable
- You investigate errors and drive root-cause analyses together with the development teams
- You analyze test data and create actionable recommendations for hardware and software improvements
Test Infrastructure & Automation
- You build test rigs and validation environments, maintaining and improving them
- You develop automated test procedures and data pipelines
- You contribute to and expand our internal test infrastructure, including repositories such as: AwesomeConfig MotionFaster DriveTestBench
- You support CI/CD-based validation workflows and automated regression testing, where applicable
- You help define the future test architecture for the development and manufacturing of humanoid robots
