August 2027 a Lecturer in Art, Media and Cultural Theory with module responsibility 35% – 45% Your tasks A didactically skilled personality with teaching experience at the interface of art history and theory, cultural and media theory is sought. You have profound knowledge of current theories and positions and convey these according to current didactic concepts. You passionately promote discourse, analysis and text competence and accompany students in the critical engagement with their design and artistic practice. You act confidently between art mediation and theoretical discourse and promote dialogic, collaborative forms of work. Your active network in the art and culture scene opens up diverse insights for students. As a Lecturer Development and implementation of teaching formats for the conveyance of theoretical, academic foundations and methods in the area of art history, art, culture and media theory. Didactically sound promotion of text and reading comprehension, critical thinking as well as analysis and reflection skills. Promotion and support of students in the development of a critical, discursive-design attitude. Participation in the planning and implementation of curatorial and mediatory formats. As Module Responsible Overall responsibility for the content, organizational and personnel planning, implementation and further development of the responsible module according to specifications. Lateral leadership of the lecturers and teaching staff active in the module; in particular ensuring communication, promoting cooperation as well as coordination of work assignments. Recruitment of teaching staff in consultation with the Vorkurs management. Planning and distribution of resources and materials within the module. Ensuring the didactic quality and topicality of the teaching. Quality assurance and qualitative further development of the module, incl. feedback to the lecturers. Participation in the academic, organizational and personnel further development of the Gestalterischer Vorkurs. Representation of the subject area Theory in the core team as well as within the Department Design Film Kunst. Active participation in exchange, planning, evaluation and development forums and participation in strategic issues. Your profile You have a completed university degree (Master or equivalent degree) in art history, media and cultural studies or a related discipline. You have teaching experience at a university or a Gestalterischer Vorkurs. A certificate in higher education didactics can be acquired as part of the employment. You possess profound knowledge of established as well as current theories, discourses and positions in the field of art, culture and media theory as well as curating. You know current methods and didactics of theory and knowledge transfer as well as for the promotion of text and reading comprehension and are experienced in their application. You have experience in the mediation and curation of artistic, design and film works. You are visible and networked in the art and culture scene. You are a strong-communicating and reliable personality with pronounced cooperation and social competence. You think and work interdisciplinary and enjoy team-oriented cooperation. You possess organizational skills and are experienced in the independent planning and implementation of projects and teaching units. Very good German skills in speaking and writing.
