Development Engineer / Project Manager Automation

Do you want to develop innovative solutions in mechatronics, automation, and robotics and bring them into practice together with industrial partners? The Institut für Laborautomation und Mechatronik ILT at the OST - Ostschweizer Fachhochschule combines applied research, industrial development, and practical teaching. For demanding research and development projects in industry and laboratory automation, we are looking for a committed individual who transforms technical ideas into viable concepts, realizes solutions, and also contributes their know-how to teaching. Further information about the ILT can be found at ILT OST ### Your tasks • Development of mechatronic, automation-based, and robotic solutions for demanding applications in industry and laboratory automation • Collaboration in application-oriented research and development projects with industrial partners - from the idea through the concept to the implementation • Leading project activities with internal and external development partners as well as contributing to a goal-oriented implementation • Support in the acquisition of new projects through technical clarifications, concept development, and the preparation of offers • Contributing own know-how to teaching as well as accompanying students during internships and project work • Participation in the operation and further development of the modern laboratory infrastructure Your qualification • Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, mechatronics, or a comparable field of study • Practical experience in mechatronics, automation, robotics, or related technical areas • Knowledge in PLC and robot programming as well as experience in the areas of Life Sciences or HealthTech are an advantage • Enjoyment of interdisciplinary cooperation and the practical further development of technical solutions • Open, communicative, and team-oriented personality with enjoyment in exchange and collaboration with different stakeholders • Independent, structured, and solution-oriented way of working Your benefits with us Questions about the application process Sandra Isenring HR Business Partner sandra.isenring@ost.ch About the OST The OST - Ostschweizer Fachhochschule is an intercantonal and interstate university of applied sciences with locations in Buchs, Rapperswil-Jona, and St.Gallen.
