The Kantonsschule Uetikon am See (KUE) was founded in 2018. It runs a lower secondary gymnasium level and currently five of the Zurich maturity profiles (classical language, mathematical-scientific, modern language, economic-legal, and philosophical-pedagogical-psychological). The number of students is currently around 800, and that of the teachers and administrative staff is 120. The location and character of the school are unique: the modern premises at the provisional site in the middle of the municipality enable future-oriented and innovative forms of teaching and fuel the "KUE-Spirit". In around six years, the KUE will move into its new premises on the site of the former chemical factory directly on Lake Zurich and undergo a further, significant growth step.

As a result of the upcoming retirement of our Rector, we are looking for a successor as Rector at the beginning of the 2028/29 school year.

Your tasks ###

As Rector, you bear overall responsibility for the pedagogical, personnel, financial, and administrative leadership of the school. You head the school management, which consists of the Prorectors and the Adjunct. Together, you drive the expansion of the school forward and shape it with your innovative spirit. You bear responsibility for the implementation of the upcoming further development of the secondary school and for the move to the new location on Lake Zurich. In doing so, you continue the lively school culture in which both teachers and students can develop in the best possible way. You maintain daily contact with the young people and exercise leadership over the teachers and the staff in administration.

Your profile ###

As a future Rector, you possess relevant leadership experience and excellent leadership qualities. You are very familiar with the Swiss gymnasium system through your own school management or teaching activity and know the framework conditions and challenges of the Zurich education system. High-quality teaching is close to your heart, as is the integrative and respectful interaction with all stakeholders of the school. You are resilient, a team player, communicative, innovative, and highly motivated to lead and shape the school of the future with passion and extraordinary commitment. Formal requirements are a completed university degree, the teaching diploma for maturity schools, several years of teaching experience, as well as leadership experience at a Kantonsschule.
