Your tasks

You undertake the social pedagogical support and promotion of the students. You engage in school development, bear responsibility in case management, and perform administrative tasks.

Cooperation

You work in a team consisting of special education teachers, childcare specialists and work interdisciplinarily with other specialist agencies. In doing so, you place great importance on cooperation with the parents.

Support and Promotion

You attend to the needs of the children and adolescents, support and promote them in their individual abilities, create individual goals and monitor their progress.

New Concept

Since Summer 2025, the school offering has been expanded by a class for children with increased support needs. You work closely with the school management on the further development of the new concept.

Profile

Experience

You have experience with children and adolescents with behavioral issues. You possess specialist knowledge in methodical special education work and place great value on relationship work with the children and their environment.

Personality

You are an open-minded, committed and resilient person who enjoys working with children and adolescents with increased support needs. You are creative in challenging situations and can support them in a child-friendly manner.

Education

You have a recognized degree in Social Pedagogy FH/HF or have an equivalent degree. You are interested in developing further together with the residential school.

Language

Stylistically confident German in spoken and written form is essential for this function. Understanding Swiss German is an advantage.

The Youth, Family and Sport department of the Erziehungsdepartement Basel-Stadt looks after a large subject area around childcare, child and youth welfare, early promotion and sport. It informs and supports children, adolescents and those involved in education and is committed to high-quality, state and private offerings. The promotion of grassroots sports and movement, in clubs and privately, is also among the central tasks. This work directly benefits many people in Basel: from children to parents to sports enthusiasts.
