Senior Telecommunications System Engineer (80-100%) - 1626

Ensuring electricity in Switzerland

In this function, you assume technical responsibility for the renewal, development, and extension of the Swiss telecommunications network (GCN) of Swissgrid. You actively contribute to the design of the future telecommunications platform and realize reliable, safe, and sustainable services. Your tasks include notably:

• Responsibility for the planning, implementation, and continuous development of the Swiss telecommunications network of Swissgrid using modern technologies proven in operation
• Development of robust system architectures, network concepts, and migration strategies for the telecommunications network
• Design and implementation of services on existing and new networks as well as the extension of the network platform
• Evaluation, acquisition, and introduction of appropriate systems and technologies in collaboration with specialized departments, operations teams, and suppliers
• Support for 1st/2nd level support as well as technical analysis and coordination of escalations to the 3rd level or the supplier
• Participation in a dynamic and motivated team that contributes to secure telecommunications for the Swiss transmission grid

What makes the difference

• Bachelor's in telecommunications or equivalent training
• Experience in engineering and creating system architectures for complex telecommunications systems (IP/MPLS, Segment Routing, Switching, WDM), ideally for a critical infrastructure operator
• Assertive personality with good analytical skills as well as a structured and goal-oriented working method
• Good knowledge of ITIL Strategy and Design phases is a plus
• Good empathy, great willingness to cooperate and pleasure in working with people, combined with a practical mentality
• Fluent command of German, as well as good knowledge of English; French is an advantage
