As the head of department for social services for asylum, you assume overall responsibility for a central organizational unit of the Cantonal Office of Social Affairs. In a demanding political and societal environment, you guarantee a service that is compliant with the law, economical and result-oriented, and actively participate in the development of the asylum and refugee field in the canton of Zug.

Your tasks

• Overall responsibility for the strategic, personnel, technical, financial and organizational management of the social services for asylum
• Ensure a service that is compliant with the law, technically sound, economical and result-oriented in the field of asylum and refugees
• Responsibility for the implementation of legal requirements as well as the professional development of the SSA offers and services
• Observation and evaluation of developments in the fields of asylum, migration, integration and social policy, as well as the definition of appropriate measures
• Preparation of decision bases or reports for the office management, political authorities and other decision-makers
• Maintenance and development of collaboration with municipalities, cantonal and federal authorities as well as other partner organizations
• Representation of the SSA towards political and professional interest groups as well as participation in relevant specialized committees
• Management and development of the framework as well as promotion of a high-performing and learning organization
• Responsibility for resource planning, budgeting as well as the management of organizational and financial conditions
• Initiation and support of organizational and change processes

Your profile

• University or university of applied sciences degree (Master's) in social sciences, law, public management, administrative sciences or in a comparable field
• Several years of management experience in a demanding professional and organizational environment
• In-depth knowledge of socio-political, legal or societal issues as well as an understanding of themes related to migration and integration policy
• Experience in the public sector, the social field, migration or in a comparable organization with a public mandate
• Great political sense as well as experience in relations with authorities, political bodies and different interest groups
• Strategic leader personality, communicative and implementation-oriented with great social competence
• High resistance to stress, decision-making ability and experience in organizational development and change processes
• Very good knowledge of German; other languages are an asset
