Job Description ______ Senior Data Engineer (fixed-term contract) (80% - 100%) Zurich / Permanent employment / hybrid The Statistical Applications management unit develops and manages platforms, tools, and services to collect, process, and analyze detailed data concerning banks and companies active in Switzerland. The information thus obtained contributes significantly to the achievement of the SNB's objectives. As part of projects, you will work closely with Data Scientists and economists to develop new solutions for managing and analyzing granular data (e.g., loan data).   Your mission ## • Decisive contributions to the design and development of a high-performance data infrastructure on the Bank's *big data* platform, within a multidisciplinary agile project team • Implementation of complex data pipelines requiring high availability, modularity, and security • Development, maintenance, and operation of data applications and processes • Support for specialized service personnel when our applications and data are used in demanding processes • Improvement and development of the automation of our testing, integration, and operation processes Your profile ##   • Master's or doctorate in data science or computer science issued by a (specialized) university, very good knowledge of data engineering and software engineering • At least three years of relevant professional experience in data architecture, data processes, or data management • Experience in the design, development, and automation of modular and high-performance data applications • Very good programming knowledge with Python / Spark / SQL • Strong analytical and conceptual skills, strong implementation orientation, and a high ability to manage complexity • Team spirit and communication skills in multidisciplinary contexts; high learning abilities and willingness to take on responsibility • Very good knowledge of German and English Our offer ### We offer you the unique opportunity to work in the IT environment of a central bank.
