About us:
The Kulturverein Langnau im Emmental is a Muslim community dedicated to religious care, Islamic education, and the promotion of social and community coexistence.

Our mosque and our association offer religious activities and educational offers for children, youth, and adults. We attach particular importance to sound Islamic education, responsible care for our community members, and respectful exchange with society.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a qualified, committed, and responsible Imam who will provide religious guidance to our community and actively shape the educational and community work.

Your tasks:

• Leading the daily prayers, the Friday prayer, and other religious rituals.
• Planning and conducting Islamic religious instruction for children and youth.
• Religious educational offers and further training for adults.
• Preparation and implementation of sermons, lectures, seminars, and religious events.
• Pedagogical support for students and adults.
• Pastoral care and counseling of community members in religious and social matters.
• Promoting cohesion within the community as well as supporting child and youth work.
• Organization of religious events and activities on Islamic holidays.
• Maintaining a respectful dialogue with other social groups and local institutions.
• Cooperation with the board of the Kulturverein and active participation in the further development of the community.

Your profile and our requirements:

We expect the following qualifications and competencies from our future Imam:

• Completed university degree in theology with a focus on Islamic theology or Islamic studies amounting to 240 ECTS credits.
• Completed vocational secondary school education in the field of Islamic studies.
• At least five years of professional experience in religious care, Islamic religious instruction, or a comparable activity.
• Pedagogical training or pedagogical knowledge and practical experience in working with children, youth, and adults.
• Participation in national and international further training, seminars, or specialist events.
• Good knowledge of Islamic theology as well as religious and pedagogical mediation.
• Responsible, respectful, and appreciative interaction with people of different age groups and cultural backgrounds.
• Independent, reliable, and structured way of working.
• Good communication skills, didactic skill, and convincing rhetorical abilities.
• Teamwork skills, flexibility, resilience, and willingness to work irregular hours.

Language skills:

• German: Level B1
• Albanian: language skills
• Arabic: language skills
• Turkish: language skills
• English: language skills
