Senior Oracle Database Engineer @AWS & ExaCC # (m/f/d) freelance/in temporary permanent employment for a project Bern Start date: 09/26 Reference number: 890212/1 Project information ### • No sub-contracting possible, exclusively personnel leasing via Hays (Schweiz) Tasks ### • Technical leadership in the construction and introduction of the Oracle Database@AWS and Exadata target platform as part of a strategic datacenter exit program • Conception, design, and implementation of a secure and standardized Oracle platform including network, security, IAM, monitoring, and backup • Planning and execution of complex migrations from OnPrem Oracle and ExaCC environments into hybrid cloud architectures with minimal operational interruptions • Provisioning and operation of central Oracle components such as RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Grid Infrastructure, CDB/PDB, Oracle Linux, and VM Cluster • Responsibility for backup, restore, disaster recovery, performance, and high availability concepts • Implementation of security and compliance requirements including hardening, TDE, role and authorization concepts, as well as CIS benchmarks • Monitoring and optimization of resources, capacities, performance, scaling, and costs on the Oracle@AWS platform • Analysis and resolution of complex malfunctions as well as coordination with Oracle Support, providers, and other stakeholders • Creation of technical concepts, operational documentation, runbooks, and migration plans as well as ensuring an orderly operational handover • Support and enablement of the internal database team through knowledge transfer as well as participation in architecture, security, change, incident, and problem management processes Profile ### • Solid professional experience as a Senior Oracle Database Engineer, ideally with experience as a Lead Engineer or technical project manager • In-depth knowledge in the operation of Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC), preferably in enterprise OnPrem environments • Very good knowledge of Oracle RDBMS, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, RMAN, multitenant architectures (CDB/PDB), TDE, and performance tuning • Profound experience with Oracle Linux, Grid Infrastructure, database and GI patching, Oracle Homes, as well as Exadata Lifecycle Management • Demonstrable experience in migrations of Oracle databases and Exadata workloads into cloud, hybrid, or multicloud environments • Good knowledge of Oracle Database@AWS, OCI, or comparable cloud and hybrid cloud architectures • Experience with infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform • Sound know-how in the areas of security, hardening, audit, compliance, encryption, backup/restore, and disaster recovery • Experience with ITIL-oriented operational processes as well as in working with architecture, security, operations, and vendor teams • Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented personality with strong communication skills in German and English Benefits ### • Responsible and varied activity in a technically exciting environment • Access to state-of-the-art technologies and tools • Remote possibility
