Ensuring electricity in Switzerland

In this demanding role, you implement the telecommunications standard solutions specified by Swissgrid in substation projects. You plan the solutions project-specifically within the defined standards and ensure their correct integration into the substations. The focus is on the safe, efficient, and high-quality implementation of existing standards - in close collaboration with the Project Engineer Substation Automation System and other internal as well as external stakeholders.

Your tasks include, among others:

  • Technical implementation of specified telecommunications standard solutions in substation projects
  • Supporting project management in technical matters as well as professional responsibility for telecommunications solutions in the project
  • Specification of project-specific technical requirements within the given standard solutions
  • Ensuring the integration of telecommunications systems in substations
  • Coordination of interfaces with Substation Automation System, protection and control technology
  • Coordination of internal and external stakeholders in network construction projects
  • Conducting acceptance tests of the installations together with the supplier
  • Close cooperation with internal departments, project teams, and external partners

What makes the difference

For this role, we are looking for a determined personality with good analytical skills and a structured and goal-oriented way of working. Furthermore, you bring the following:

  • Completed studies in telecommunications, electrical engineering, or a comparable field
  • Experience in the technical handling of telecommunications projects, secondary technology, or in the environment of critical infrastructures
  • Good understanding of interfaces between telecommunications, Substation Automation System, protection and control technology
  • Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style with high personal responsibility
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment in collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Very good German and good English skills; French is an advantage

The Telecommunications department consists of five teams with 33 dedicated and highly motivated employees and is responsible for the complete lifecycle (engineering, implementation, and operation) of Swissgrid's telecommunications, telephony, remote control, and time systems.
