Your commitment counts: Together with your team, you ensure safe and optimally maintained cantonal roads in the Emmental -- for the benefit of the population, economy and environment.

Your tasks

• You support the Road Inspector in leading a young and motivated team of around 21 employees, including 5 directly subordinate team leaders for road maintenance, with technical competence, discretion and a role model function
• You actively help shape the depot operations and support the Road Inspector in financial and technical management
• You independently process clearly defined tasks in the area of road maintenance and ensure high operational readiness and safe driveability of the cantonal roads in the Emmental
• You and your team provide services in the areas of road surface maintenance, winter service, green space maintenance and manage accident and storm damage
• You create the on-call plans for summer and winter operations and thus ensure the operational readiness of the Road Inspection office also outside of regular working hours
• You are responsible for the multi-year planning for the structural and operational maintenance measures in the Road Inspection office. For substance preservation projects, you assume the role of project and superstructure manager from planning to construction completion
• You support the Road Inspector in the financial and technical management of the Road Inspection office and thus help to manage the operation prudently

Your profile

• Completed vocational training in the main construction industry, as a civil engineering draughtsman, road builder or an equivalent qualification
• Further training as a construction manager, construction technician, site manager or maintenance specialist
• Profound experience in civil and road construction or in an engineering office as well as enjoyment of organizational and administrative activities
• Leadership experience, strong organizational and negotiation skills
• Confident handling of MS Office, SAP knowledge is an advantage
• Strong communication skills with very good German skills in speaking and writing (German as a native language is an advantage)
