The contribution you can make

• Lead the International Cooperation division, consisting of three sections, from a technical, organizational, and personnel perspective
• Analyze international developments in the field of migration as well as Switzerland's interests
• Develop strategic proposals for the attention of the SEM extended management and the department's top leadership and accompany their implementation
• Further develop and apply international cooperation instruments
• Conduct dialogues in the field of migration and negotiations relating to international treaties
• Elaborate mandates for the attention of the Federal Council

What distinguishes you

• University degree (master's) as well as several years of experience in the field of international relations
• In-depth knowledge of the migration sector as well as international developments and politics
• Experience in diplomatic relations and security in contacts at national and international levels
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Strategic approach, organizational talent, and high social competence
• Excellent knowledge of two official languages and oral and written proficiency in English

Migration concerns us

The State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) is responsible for all matters relating to foreign nationals and asylum law in Switzerland. Within the International Affairs management area, the International Cooperation division is responsible for managing bilateral relations with countries of origin and transit, as well as managing multilateral cooperation. The objective is to ensure effective governance in migration matters and a coherent foreign policy in this field.
