Department Manager Tool and Die Manufacturing

For our client from the Schaffhausen region, we are looking for a Department Manager (m/f/d) Tool and Die Manufacturing. Our client is one of the world's leading manufacturers of injection molds for medical, pharmaceutical, and laboratory applications as well as thin-wall packaging. Through the combined expertise of traditional craftsmanship and state-of-the-art high tech, innovative solutions are created - from product development to series production. Your tasks: • Technical and personnel leadership of the Tool and Die Manufacturing department (approx. 15 employees) • Responsibility for the areas of turning, grinding, and EDM • Planning, steering, and monitoring of the entire manufacturing processes • Ensuring quality, on-time delivery, and economic efficiency in production • Continuous optimization of manufacturing workflows, processes, and resources • Analysis of deviations as well as initiation and implementation of improvement measures • Close cooperation with design, AVOR, manufacturing management, and other departments • Participation in scheduling, manufacturing, and design meetings • Promotion and introduction of new manufacturing and production technologies • Planning and implementation of investments in machines, equipment, and infrastructure • Responsibility for maintenance, servicing, and further development of the infrastructure • Coordination and support of external suppliers, service partners, and craftsmen • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and company guidelines Your profile: • Several years of professional experience in subtractive manufacturing, ideally in tool or die making as well as in high-precision machining processes • Completed technical further training • Initial leadership experience or motivation to take on a position with personnel responsibility • Ideal age between 30 and 50 years • Analytical and networked thinking skills as well as a structured and solution-oriented way of working • Sound understanding of manufacturing processes, production workflows, and process optimizations • Practical experience in the areas of turning, grinding, and/or EDM is an advantage, but not a mandatory requirement • Team-oriented personality with a sense of responsibility and strong communication skills What is offered: • Responsible and varied leadership position in tool and die making • Short decision-making paths and flat hierarchies in a familiar environment • Collegial, motivated team with an appreciative corporate culture • Modern infrastructure as well as machines and work equipment at the latest state of the art • Openness to new technologies, innovations, and continuous improvements • Scope for design for the active further development of processes and manufacturing technologies • Structured and personal induction by the previous job holder If you are looking for a challenging position in a dynamic environment and meet the stated requirements, we look forward to receiving your application.
