• Lead the Schengen searches commissariat (SIRENE) from an organizational, technical, and personnel perspective
• Coordinate the exchange of information concerning searches and judicial police information, particularly in the context of international search warrants registered in the Schengen Information System (SIS)
• Maintain close collaboration with the Federal Office of Justice, the State Secretariat for Migration, the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security, as well as, in particular, with the cantonal police and other national partners, and at the international level, with the other offices responsible for searches in the Schengen States
• Ensure the operationality, direction, and coordination of work processes within the commissariat
• Provide strategic support for the development of Schengen searches and, if necessary, participate in national and international committees

What distinguishes you

• Professional certificate as an <<police officer>>; continuous training in the legal or police field constitutes a preferential qualification
• Several years of managerial experience, knowledge in police matters, particularly in judicial police work, and in-depth knowledge of criminal law and criminal procedure
• Strong drafting skills, communication talent, and cooperation skills
• Psychophysical resilience, ability to integrate quickly into a team and to collaborate in a collegial manner
• Excellent knowledge of two official languages and English. Further linguistic knowledge constitutes a preferential qualification

The International Police Cooperation management division of fedpol ensures collaboration between the Confederation and Cantons and with foreign partner authorities, manages the national contact points for the international exchange of information and exchanges related to police searches (e.g., via INTERPOL, Europol, and Schengen) and ensures police coordination in cross-border and international situations.
The Operations and Alarm Center -- SIRENE CH is the national contact point for the exchange of police information and exchanges related to police searches within the Schengen Information System (SIS). It handles police inquiries from Switzerland and abroad 24 hours a day, coordinates their transmission to the competent national authorities, and offers support in searches and investigations at the international level and in the management of special situations.
