Product Manager / Strategic Buyer Pipes m/f/d 100%

Introduction

For a leading company in Swiss trade and distribution of steel and metal products, we are looking for an entrepreneurially minded and strong-negotiating personality as a Product Manager / Strategic Buyer Pipes (w/m) to strengthen the purchasing team.

In this responsible key position, you will take over strategic procurement and product management in the steel pipe sector. You will actively help shape the procurement strategy, further develop supplier relationships, and contribute sustainably to the company's competitiveness.

Tasks

Overall responsibility for product management as well as strategic purchasing in the steel pipe sector

Analysis of market and demand developments as well as planning and implementation of procurement campaigns

Negotiation of prices, conditions, and contracts with national and international suppliers

Building, maintaining, and further developing long-term supplier partnerships

Development and implementation of sustainable procurement strategies

Identification and opening up of new procurement sources in the international environment

Realization of cost optimization potentials through benchmarks, value analyses, and other modern purchasing methods

Processing and solving challenges regarding delivery dates, quality, and costs

Close cooperation with sales, logistics, and other internal stakeholders

Support in the further development of processes and structures within purchasing

Profile

Several years of professional experience in strategic purchasing or product management, ideally in the steel trade or a comparable industrial environment

Sound knowledge of international procurement markets, especially experience in supply chain management with an Asia focus

Completed commercial training with further business administration education

Strong negotiation skills as well as high goal and result orientation

Entrepreneurial mindset with an analytical and solution-oriented approach

Independent, committed, and resilient personality with high initiative

Confident and professional appearance towards internal and external partners

Fluent German skills as well as good English skills in speaking and writing

Other foreign language skills are welcome

Very good MS Office skills, SAP-MM experience is an advantage
