Counting nearly 1'200 employees, the Département de médecine aiguë (D-MA) includes the Services of clinical anesthesiology, pharmacology and toxicology, intensive care, and emergencies. It responds to a quadruple mission through its services which provide their expertise in frequent interaction with all the Hôpitaux universitaires de Genève, thanks to a transversal platform, with the objective of ensuring the best possible care for patients.

Le Service d'anesthésiologie is a transversal service of the HUG at the heart of the technical platform. With its 8 medical units and a research and innovation unit, its mission aims to ensure the comfort and safety of patients during therapeutic or diagnostic, medical or surgical acts, as well as during post-interventional care, while ensuring proper pain management.

As the largest center in Switzerland in terms of the number of interventional acts performed per year, Le Service d'anesthésiologie is at the forefront of progress made in this field. The service also provides pre- and post-graduate and continuing education for nurses and doctors in specialized training. As a service of prestations, anesthesiology also intervenes in the field of interventional analgesia and in life-threatening emergency situations, intra-hospital or pre-hospital, alongside the Service des urgences.

Job Description ##

You ensure the global care of patients during their stay in the peri-interventional care units of the Service d'anesthésie in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

You welcome, accompany, and provide care to a patient population requiring continuous monitoring, monitored in different post-interventional monitoring rooms, with intensification of treatment in a peri-interventional intermediate care unit.

You promote and develop nursing care within a multidisciplinary team.

You guarantee patient safety and perform quality services in an acute care environment.

Your scope of work may include other Anesthesiology units (Ambulatory reception, Interventional analgesia, etc.).

Qualifications ##

You possess a Bachelor HES in nursing or a nursing diploma recognized by the Swiss Red Cross.

You have worked in an acute care service or followed a certifying training (Certificate in intermediate care).

You possess confirmed skills in the practice of care. Experience in acute care is indispensable.

You demonstrate availability and punctuality. You are able to promote the quality of care and to work both autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team.

You possess excellent capacities for analysis, synthesis, organization, priority management, and stress resistance.

You are a person open to change and to questioning your practices.

You have ease in human relations and possess a strong capacity for listening and empathy.

You commit to following a certifying training (Certificate in intermediate care).
