The contribution you can make

• Perform maintenance and repair of AS332M1 Super Puma, AS532UL Cougar and EC135/635 aircraft at maintenance level A (understanding of technical documentation in English, level A2)
• Ensure flight readiness and perform intermediate flight checks, restore systems as well as deliver aircraft to pilots and take them back into delivery
• Perform work as an accompanying mechanic and be employed within the air rescue standby service
• Participate in deployments abroad in case of disasters as well as humanitarian and peacekeeping measures
• Collaborate as a specialist teacher within the framework of instructional sequences and FA courses

What distinguishes you

• Federal certificate of capacity as a polymechanic or similar four-year basic technical training
• Good psychophysical condition to undergo survival courses on land and water
• Responsible, autonomous, precise way of working as well as team and customer oriented
• Driving license category B mandatory (driving license categories C and E is an advantage), good IT knowledge (MS Office/SAP preferred), basic military training (SR) is an advantage
• Excellent knowledge of an official language, further linguistic knowledge represents an advantage

In summary

As the competence center of the Swiss Air Force (FA) in the field of helicopters, the Alpnach airfield command is responsible for constant readiness for deployment and offers numerous interesting jobs in a technologically innovative environment. Through the preparation (80 %), maintenance and restoration of efficiency (20 %) of the Super Puma (TH 06), the Cougar (TH 18) and the Eurocopter (EC635), we guarantee the constant fulfillment of the tasks of the Swiss Army in our country and abroad. We provide subsidiary support services during operations and deployments in favor of emergency response organizations. Furthermore, we are employed in case of disasters, rescue operations as well as peacekeeping missions and humanitarian aid.

The Operations Command (Cdo Op) is responsible for all operations and all military deployments of the Swiss Army. It includes among others the Air Force, the Land Forces, the four territorial divisions, the SWISSINT competence center, the special forces command and the military police. Approximately 40 percent of the nearly 2500 employees are civilian employees: from engineers to aircraft mechanics to analysts.

The Swiss Army employs over 9000 employees within the framework of four military professions and about 200 civilian professions, in 110 locations throughout the national territory. Furthermore, it provides for new recruits, training apprentices in over 30 professions.
