Supplier Quality Officer

We are looking for a Supplier Quality Officer to guarantee and improve the quality of products, components, and services provided by our suppliers. You will intervene throughout the supplier cycle, from feasibility analysis to production monitoring, including audits and the handling of quality issues.

In close collaboration with Purchasing, Quality, Production, the Technical Office, and Logistics, you will ensure that risks are anticipated, non-conformities are resolved, and supplies are secured. You will thus contribute to the control of quality, costs, and deadlines, while developing a constructive and demanding relationship with our suppliers.

• Feasibility analysis: evaluate the ability of suppliers to meet technical, quality, deadline, and volume requirements. Identify risks upstream and propose measures to secure orders and the launch of new products.
• Monitoring production at suppliers: perform visits and inspections when necessary, anticipate deviations, and collaborate with Purchasing and Logistics to secure supplies.
• Management of quality issues from suppliers and subcontractors: act as the Sottas contact person for the handling of supplier non-conformities. Analyze root causes, coordinate the implementation of corrective and preventive actions, verify their effectiveness, and ensure the resolution of problems, particularly when they present a risk to production or construction sites.
• Performance and continuous improvement: monitor the quality performance of strategic suppliers, identify risks and intervention priorities, contribute to the reduction of non-quality costs, and develop a Supplier Quality cockpit to improve monitoring and management.
• Quality and safety on construction sites: provide your expertise during quality and safety audits when suppliers or subcontractors are involved. Ensure the link with them, contribute to the resolution of discrepancies, and capitalize on feedback.
• Qualification of new suppliers: participate in the evaluation and qualification of new suppliers or alternatives when necessary to meet the needs of Sottas.
• Supplier audits: plan and conduct supplier audits and process audits according to identified risks. Evaluate the control of manufacturing processes, identify discrepancies, and monitor the implementation of action plans to sustainably improve supplier quality.

Qualifications

You are a rigorous, analytical, and solution-oriented person, with good interpersonal skills. Autonomous and proactive, you know how to defend quality requirements firmly while maintaining constructive relationships with suppliers. You enjoy being in the field and are willing to travel regularly to suppliers.

The following skills are required:

• Higher technical training in a field of metal construction, industrial, mechanical, metallurgy, or equivalent
• Experience in industrial quality and/or supplier quality
• Availability for regular travel to suppliers, in Switzerland and abroad
• Experience in conducting process audits and resolving quality problems
• A good understanding of industrial and manufacturing processes
• Good knowledge of analysis and problem-solving methods, notably 8D, 5 Why, and Ishikawa
• Knowledge of the PPAP process is an asset
• Proficiency with IT tools and data analysis
• Good command of English; German is an asset
• Strong analytical, organizational, and priority management skills
• A keen sense of responsibility, collaboration, and internal customer orientation
• Good communication skills with technical and operational interlocutors
• Autonomy, reactivity, and a capacity to make decisions and escalate critical problems
• Availability for travel to suppliers and construction sites
