We are looking for a Head of Department for Strategies Transport and Urban Space as of 1 October 2026 or by arrangement. Tasks You will lead the Department Strategies Transport and Urban Space personally, organizationally, and professionally with 5–7 employees and continuously develop it. As a member of the Transport and Urban Space management team, you will develop the multi-year planning, prioritize ongoing tasks, topics, and projects, and further develop the professional stance of the business division. Together with your employees, you will develop and further elaborate fundamentals, strategies, and implementation aids in the areas of transport and urban space – particularly for the areas of mobility and transport such as motorized individual transport, bicycle traffic, freight transport and logistics, and parking – and coordinate their implementation. You will collaborate on strategies, concepts, and strategic projects of other service departments. You will represent integral mobility, transport, and urban space planning as well as the interests of the Tiefbauamt in professional, political, and other exchange bodies. Profile Completed university degree in the field of transport and mobility planning, spatial planning, or comparable training Several years of leadership experience as well as experience in integral mobility, transport, and urban space planning Leadership strength, flexible and independent way of working, as well as ability to cooperate and manage conflict Responsible, structured, and analytical way of working with a will to shape and a performance orientation Proficient German in spoken and written form, strong team and communication skills, as well as enjoyment in working with politics and various interest groups We offer The opportunity to help shape the future of the largest city.
