Commissioned in 1974, the Echall wastewater treatment plant Operations Employee at the wastewater treatment plant at 100% Commissioned in 1974, the Echallens wastewater treatment plant is currently undergoing a complete metamorphosis. Following the works planned for 2030, it will be able to treat the wastewater of 28’000 population equivalents (PE). Nine municipalities have decided to unite their efforts to build a single WWTP in Echallens. The project plans to transform six existing WWTPs into pumping stations (STAP) which will be connected to the future regional WWTP by a network of 27 km of pipes, of which 18 km are to be built. This construction site will allow for a pooling of costs, more efficient treatment of wastewater, notably for nitrogen and micropollutants and thus a better quality of water returned to the natural environment. Due to the expansion of the wastewater treatment plant, the Infrastructure service is looking for a: Operations Employee at the wastewater treatment plant at 100% Desired profile: - CFC electrician or CFC automation technician mandatory - Having the operating electrician authorization (OIBT) is an asset or being willing to obtain it - Holding a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Federal Diploma or an FES certificate including complementary courses or being willing to undergo the training - Having proven practice in technical work (mechanical and electrical) - Having a keen sense of safety (individuals, installations, risks of water pollution) - Having a sensitivity to environmental preservation and water protection - Ability to work individually or in a team - Living within a maximum perimeter of 30 minutes of the Municipality - Holding a B driving license Mission: Under the direction of the operations manager of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP), the wastewater treatment plant technician actively participates in the proper functioning of the mechanical and electrical installations of the WWTP and the lifting stations and maintains the structures in a constant state of cleanliness. Their daily contribution is essential to ensure the proper functioning of the site and to preserve water resources and natural environments, protect the environment and reduce the impact of wastewater on the ecosystem in order to guarantee quality water for all. The WWTP operates 7j/7 and 24h/24. Its monitoring is ensured by an on-call service and a remote supervision/alarm management system. This position requires submitting to irregular hours (including Saturday and Sunday), as well as having a residence located less than 30 minutes from the WWTP. Main tasks: Perform maintenance and repair work on electromechanical installations; proceed with the maintenance and cleaning of buildings and technical machinery infrastructures; carry out the daily operational work of the WWTP; perform laboratory analyses of sludge and effluent; participate in the control and maintenance of wastewater lifting stations. Desired hours: from Monday to Friday, with alternating on-call service on weekends. Entry into service: From 1st April 2027 or to be agreed.
