Kanton Zürich Bildungsdirektion Technische Berufsschule Zürich TBZ Head of Department Automotive Technology 100% The Automotive Technology department of the Technische Berufsschule Zürich TBZ is the competence center for the initial and continuing education of automotive and coachbuilding professions. Around 600 apprentices are taught by around 40 teachers. The basic training is supplemented by a diverse range of continuing education offers. As of 1 March 2027, we are looking for a committed and strong leadership personality as Head of Department Automotive Technology. The function is performed in a co-leadership model. Together with your leadership partner, you bear the responsibility for the personnel, pedagogical, and organizational leadership and further development of the department. Your tasks You lead and develop the employees, ensure a high-quality and reliable school operation, and are responsible for the personnel and financial resources. At the same time, you further develop the educational offers together with the stakeholders of vocational education and maintain cooperation with associations, companies, ÜK-centers, and other partners. As a member of the extended school management, you also actively shape the development of the TBZ. Your profile You have several years of teaching and leadership experience at the secondary level II as well as a completed university degree in a field relevant to automotive technology or general education. A teaching diploma for vocational schools is mandatory for employment as a Head of Department. You have already completed school management training or are ready to complete it promptly. A good network in the automotive industry is an advantage. We are looking for an upright and decisive personality with strong leadership, communication, and cooperation skills.
