Development Engineer Structural Assemblies Rail Vehicles

You develop and design mechanical and welding assemblies for the repair of car bodies in rail vehicle construction.

Tasks

• Design and development of mechanical and welding assemblies according to DIN EN 15085-6
• Creation of welding feasibility studies, concepts and repair instructions
• Cooperation with production, calculation, purchasing and project management
• Interface between mechanical engineering and project management during repair projects
• Construction of production-ready solutions for structural damage to car bodies
• Assessment of accidented rail vehicles domestically and abroad

Profile

• Completed training (HTL, FH, Uni) in mechanical engineering or mechanics
• Good knowledge of CAD, preferably Catia V5, solid modeling
• Experience in the rail vehicle industry is an advantage
• Willingness to travel up to 10% for on-site assessments
• Very good German and English skills (B2) in spoken and written form
• Desirable: Training as an international welding specialist engineer (IWE, IWT or IWS)
