In this dynamic and constantly evolving context, the Domaine Infrastructures, Sécurité et Exploitation (DSE) is seeking a Service Head to lead the Security and Health Service (SESA).
The Vice-Presidency for Operations (VPO) ensures the smooth operation of EPFL's various campuses. This includes the management of catering, human resources, information systems, security, and the operation of its sites, as well as the development and construction of its infrastructure. Main tasks and responsibilities
Contribute to the realization of the Domain's objectives and ensure the implementation of EPFL's culture, by planning activities, organizing their execution, and motivating the collaborators attached to the service.
Ensure the strategic and operational management of the service, based on its four units and around 40 collaborators.
Define and implement the security, safety, and health strategy of the School, in accordance with the legal framework and applicable directives.
Ensure the implementation and continuity of safety and health devices at work, safety (access control, site surveillance, person protection), event security, and fire protection.
Pilot the preparation and coordination in the event of a crisis: emergency plans, evacuation exercises, alarm management center, coordination with authorities and emergency partners.
Assist as a specialist in the event of incidents occurring on EPFL sites.
Supervise health and safety at work: risk assessment, accident prevention, monitoring of working conditions, regulatory compliance, and training.
Ensure the development and implementation of the EPFL prevention and health concept.
Lead the Health Pole: occupational health, health reception, prevention campaigns, workplace hygiene, and medical supervision of emergency responders.
Develop cohesion and synergies between the units of the service.
Manage the human and financial resources of the service, including the supervision of the network of security coordinators (COSEC), the network of first responders, and volunteer firefighters.
Propose to the Domain Direction processes and information systems to simplify, streamline, secure, and digitize interactions between researchers, students, collaborators of EPFL, and the service.
Develop participatory governance and quality dialogue with the various stakeholders, both internally and externally.
