The position is attached to the General Internal Medicine Service of the Department of Medicine. Internal medicine is a specialty centered, as its name suggests, towards the interior of the body and organs. The mother discipline has given birth, over the last three decades, to multiple disciplines, which became full-fledged specialties several years ago and obtained the same status as internal medicine itself. The specialist who brings the latest knowledge of their specialty to patients and in university centers is capable of developing sophisticated research programs, either clinical or laboratory-based, which will allow the integration of this knowledge into practice through translational medicine. The general internal medicine service ensures the care of hospitalized patients presenting a problem or condition related to internal medicine, in collaboration with the specialty medicine department services. Chief Physician in the general internal medicine service -- 100% In close collaboration with your hierarchy, you ensure the management of a care unit, the coordination of practical activities, and the clinical, therapeutic, or surgical interventions of the patient population entrusted to you. You are responsible, under the supervision of your direct hierarchy, for medical acts pertaining to the service. You guarantee the quality of medical services in the care units, including acute activities such as intermediate care and in the adult emergency service, including on-call periods. You perform diagnostic or interventional therapeutic acts in the areas defined by the head of service. You contribute to training and efficiently support resident doctors and medical interns in their skill development. You ensure training activities, such as participation in seminars, colloquia, or internal theoretical training conferences, and contribute to them through presentations. You pursue your training objectives according to the postgraduate training plan and/or the FMH-ISFM requirements for the intended specialty title or the maintenance thereof. You participate in ongoing research activities in the service and participate in the evaluation of the training followed and the degree of achievement of its objectives. Qualifications You hold a federal medical diploma or have training deemed equivalent by the Commission des professions médicales of the Office fédéral de la santé publique (MEBEKO). You have solid experience in general internal medicine. Experience in acute medicine is a plus. You benefit from or are close to obtaining an FMH specialty title in general internal medicine. If applicable, you possess the Geneva cantonal right to practice. You possess excellent communication skills in a multidisciplinary team and with patients, you are dynamic, flexible, and committed. Furthermore, you have demonstrated strong adaptability skills. You have the desire to participate in clinical research. Knowledge of the hospital world is necessary. For non-French speaking persons, a C1 level of French in spoken and written tests is required.
