As a Plant and Apparatus Builder at Lonza, you manufacture various products based on technical drawings. You mainly process various sheet metals, profiles and pipes. You assemble these into components, containers, pipe systems or apparatuses, which are subsequently integrated into systems and plants. You also undertake the associated assembly, maintenance and repair work. In the training workshop, the various techniques can be practiced on the different materials in order to later correctly prepare the product directly from production for the respective client. Your training as Plant and Apparatus Builders will take place over 4 years in the training company and specialist workshops with up to two days of vocational school attendance per week. During the basic training in the first half, knowledge and skills are established with a focus on sheet metal, metal profile and pipe processing using traditional tools as well as training on computer-controlled bending machines, welding robots and laser cutting systems. In the second half, specialized training takes place in operational activity areas and specialist workshops, with deepening of technical expertise through practical learning projects for Lonza. From the 3rd year of apprenticeship, one will specialize in one of the various specializations: construction technology, pipe construction technology, welding technology. Your profile: Interest in technical contexts and manual dexterity, good spatial awareness, good technical understanding, reliable, independent working, no allergies to metals, fats and oils, teamwork skills, very good German skills (at least B2 level).
