Jurist with construction law experience and focus on short-term rentals 70 % - 100 % (fixed-term for 3 years)

Due to a recent revision of the building and zoning regulations, private secondary residences and business apartments no longer count towards the permitted residential portion under certain conditions. This means that private secondary residences and business apartments must be checked for legality and, if necessary, converted to a lawful use.

To ensure rapid and smooth enforcement, we are looking for a committed and quality-conscious personality for our Task Force for a fixed term of three years. The "Du-Kultur" (informal culture) practiced at the AfB begins with us even before the first day of work. Therefore, we take the liberty of addressing you using "Du".

Tasks ##

• In connection with short-term rentals, you support and advise the involved employees of the Amt für Baubewilligungen as well as the Bausektion (building permit authority of the Stadt Zürich) in particularly complex, demanding, or politically sensitive matters.
• Additionally, you represent the Bausektion as well as the Amt für Baubewilligungen in legal remedy proceedings (especially regarding short-term rentals).
• You further process requests for inspection of files according to the Information and Data Protection Act of the Kanton Zürich (especially regarding short-term rentals).
• Your area of responsibility also includes the legal examination of building decision proposals as well as answering complex legal questions of public construction law and the associated legal fields (e.g., environmental protection law).
• The processing of written inquiries, interpellations, postulates, and motions from the Gemeinderat is also among your tasks.
• You work closely with internal specialist departments, authorities, and other stakeholders and make an important contribution to a legally compliant, uniform, and effective enforcement practice.

Profile ##

• You have a completed degree in law from a Swiss university.
• Ideally, you bring practical experience in the field of public construction and planning law, the licensing system, and/or sovereign enforcement.
• Your analytical thinking, methodical approach, transparent communication style, and negotiation skills distinguish you.
• You also bring proficiency in handling databases, registers, and electronic case management systems.
• We rely on your initiative and openness to new things.
• Additionally, you bring flexibility and a pinch of humor.
• Your stylish oral and written expression in German completes your profile.
