Senior Fundraiser: Foundations and Major Gifts (80-100%)

We are looking for an implementation-strong, winning, and strategically thinking personality as a Senior Fundraiser (80-100%) starting January 1, 2027, or by arrangement.

In order for our offers to reach the people who need them, visibility, trust, and sustainable financing are required. With a high degree of creative freedom, professionalism, and competence, we procure the financial resources for our humanitarian engagement and want to secure and expand this in the long term. As a Senior Fundraiser, you will take on a central role in the financing of our programs in the Canton of Zürich. You will maintain reliable relationships with foundations and major donors, further develop funding partnerships, and, together with the specialist departments, ensure that our offers are secured in the long term. In doing so, you will contribute new impulses and support the further development of our fundraising activities.

Your field of activity

• You further develop the fundraising strategy in the area of foundations and contribute new impulses for sustainable funding partnerships
• With tact and negotiating skills, you maintain existing relationships with funding foundations and win new supporters for our projects and services
• In close cooperation with the program managers, you write funding applications and accompany the process from submission to reporting
• You manage individual major gifts from private individuals and create long-term bonds to our organization
• With your know-how, you actively help shape direct marketing measures for major benefactors and contribute creative ideas for new ways of approaching people
• You take responsibility in the planning and implementation of fundraising events and ensure a professional appearance
• With clear budget management and cross-departmental cooperation, you make an important contribution to the overall impact of fundraising, marketing, and communication

What you bring with you

• Education at University of Applied Sciences level or comparable, relevant further training is an advantage
• At least 5 years of experience in relationship marketing in the NPO environment or in the private sector with a focus on customer loyalty and Key Account Management
• Additional qualification in fundraising (e.g., CAS Fundraising Management, CAS Fundraising Strategies) is an advantage
• Linguistic fluency as well as excellent written German skills
• You proactively approach people and bring projects to a successful conclusion with initiative and closing strength
• An authentic, enthusiastic personality that builds trust and actively and sustainably maintains relationships
• Strong intrinsic motivation for the humanitarian Red Cross values and identification with our locally active aid organization
