Operations Manager Recycling & Disposal 90–100 % The REWAG Entsorgung AG is a regionally anchored and entrepreneurially managed SME in the circular economy in Northwest Switzerland. We collect, sort, recycle and professionally process recyclables and waste using modern plants. In view of the planned retirement of our long-standing Operations Manager, we are looking for a strong-willed and down-to-earth personality as Operations Manager Recycling & Disposal 90–100 % starting 1. January 2027 or by arrangement. In this key position, you will take over the operational leadership of our operations with a main focus on Kaiseraugst. You will report directly to the Managing Director and lead around 15–20 employees. You do not lead from an office, but are present where the operation is running. If you lead teams with respect and clear edges and understand technology, you are in the right place with us. Your tasks – leading, organizing and developing further: Lead operations: You lead the daily operational business of our locations with a main focus on Kaiseraugst. You plan the daily employee and machine deployment, set priorities and ensure that the operation runs smoothly. Lead team: You lead around 15–20 employees (site manager, machine operators, sorting/operational staff, scale) with clear, fair and reliable communication at eye level. Coordinate material flows: You keep an overview of the acceptance, classification, sorting, storage and removal of our recyclables and waste and ensure that materials are at the right place at the right time. Develop operations further: You recognize potential for improvement in processes, organization and technology and implement these pragmatically together with the management. Keep machine park in shape: You ensure that our excavators, wheel loaders, forklifts, presses, shredders as well as processing and sorting plants are ready for use, maintained and cared for. You coordinate larger repairs with external partners. Site & safety: You look after cleanliness, structure and order on the entire area and consistently enforce safety, environmental and fire protection rules. Take responsibility: You represent the Managing Director in his absence and contribute your ideas regarding new acquisitions and projects. What you bring with you – leadership, technology and common sense: Vocational training: Completed technical, manual or comparable vocational training. Further education: Further education as a Technical Specialist, Process Specialist, Operations Specialist or a comparable qualification is an advantage. Leadership experience: Leadership experience in an operational environment with variously qualified employees is particularly welcome. You communicate directly, respectfully, clearly and do not let yourself be unsettled even in hectic moments. Hands-on mentality: You tackle problems pragmatically, enjoy deciding and organizing and are visible and present in the operation. Place of residence: Your place of residence enables you to have a reliable presence in Kaiseraugst. Driver's license: Driver's license Cat. B is mandatory; construction machinery license and/or machine operator experience are a plus. Industry experience: Experience in the recycling, bulk goods or construction site sector is an advantage – motivated career changers with solid leadership practice are welcome!
