ROLE DESCRIPTION

• We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee key accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting and support ongoing compliance initiatives.
• As a key member of the accounting team, the Senior Accountant will contribute to ensuring the integrity of accounting information by accurately recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions.
• Reporting to the Senior Manager Accounting, this is a 12-month fixed-term position starting in October 2026 to cover maternity leave. A contract extension or transition to a permanent position is possible.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will oversee general ledger activities and ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual closing processes (e.g., preparation and review of accounting entries, monthly accrual processes on complex areas, preparation and analysis of complex account reconciliations, etc.)
• You will periodically prepare reports, notes and annexes by collecting, analyzing and summarizing accounting information in accordance with the monthly closing schedule
• You will assist in analyzing monthly financial results and reporting variances against previous periods and budget/forecasts
• You will be responsible for maintaining and verifying the accuracy of the general ledger
• You will research accounting issues and propose appropriate accounting treatment, including the drafting of internal accounting notes
• You will assist in the documentation and monitoring of internal controls, as well as in the implementation of process improvements
• You will act as a liaison with internal and external audit teams, including the preparation of supporting documentation and SOX-compliant documents
• You will assist in the preparation of quarterly reports, by analyzing and correcting variances in our ERP system
• You will collaborate cross-functionally with other Viking stakeholders, assisting in business decision-making by preparing cost and profitability analyses upon request
• You will participate in user acceptance testing and future developments of ERP and reporting systems, with a focus on automation
• You will supervise, mentor and develop more junior members of the team, providing guidance and assistance as needed

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Solid understanding of accounting theory (IFRS is a plus).
• More than 4 years of experience in accounting/finance; a CPA or ACCA qualification is preferred.
• Previous experience in an audit firm or in a SOX compliance environment would be an asset
• Excellent command of English, both spoken and written
• Great attention to detail and rigorous organization
• Ability to meet set deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Excel is essential

EDUCATION

• You hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or business management; an accounting qualification such as CPA or ACCA is preferred.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in a publicly traded company is an advantage.
• Experience with D365 or OneStream would be a plus.
