School-age children and adolescents with asylum status attend the Asylum School Offers during the first phase of their stay in the Canton of Luzern. At various locations, they are prepared for integration into municipal schools or regular bridge offers. Additionally, the offers are also aimed at late-arriving adolescents and young adults from the asylum sector, from EU/EFTA, and from third countries.

In this role, you will accompany newly arrived children aged 12 to 15 from the asylum sector during their first school experiences in Switzerland.

In their daily work, you will be partially supported by a Special Education Teacher as well as by interns and civil service workers.

Your tasks

• You teach the children in the subjects German as a Foreign Language, Visual Arts, and Physical Education.
• Support in everyday school life is provided by one of our interns.
• You assess the students with regard to subject-related, self-, and social competencies and are responsible for the specific promotion of each individual child.
• The open workload is distributed over the weekdays, totaling 14.5 lessons.

Your profile

• You have a teaching diploma for primary or secondary level.
• Working with children in an intercultural environment fulfills you and brings you joy.
• You adapt easily to new circumstances and thus also encounter a changing composition of learning groups with high flexibility.
