The IT organization is in a profound transformation: We are currently building our Azure Landing Zone and simultaneously establishing a SAFe® Delivery Process (Scaled Agile Framework). In this context, we are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer / Cloud Platform Engineer ? What you can achieve: Azure Landing Zone & Cloud Platform Construction and further development of the Azure Landing Zone: Governance, Networking, Identity, Security Baseline — as a solid foundation for all workloads in the company Migration and modernization of existing applications from OpenShift to Azure-native container services (AKS or comparable managed container services) — including analysis, planning, and stepwise implementation Operation and further development of the container platform: Resource management, network, scaling, troubleshooting (including typical K8s problems such as memory leaks, scheduling conflicts) Support of the data teams in dealing with Azure and Power Platform services: Provision of suitable infrastructure, consulting on integration and governance, ensuring platform compliance Management of cloud-native services according to the requirements of the various teams — with a clear focus on standardization, security, and scalability Co-design of Cloud Governance: RBAC model, Policy-as-Code, tagging strategy, cost control (FinOps) Infrastructure as Code & Automation Development and maintenance of a modular Terraform framework as a common basis for all cloud resources in the company Taking on the Product Owner role for the IaC area: Maintenance and prioritization of the backlog, definition of standards and quality criteria, coordination with internal teams regarding requirements and roadmap Construction and operation of CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions: Linting, Testing, Security Scanning, automatic deployment Promotion of an IaC culture in the team: Code Reviews, documentation, knowledge transfer, and shared standards Automation of operational processes: Patching, Drift Detection, Secret Rotation, Compliance Reporting Observability & Incident Management Construction of a structured observability practice based on SaaS solutions — selection, integration, and operation of suitable tools for metrics, logs, and traces as a coherent whole Definition and implementation of SLIs, SLOs, and Error Budgets in close cooperation with the product teams — as a basis for data-driven operational decisions Construction of alerts, dashboards, and capacity monitoring as self-service for development teams Proactive identification of risks and vulnerabilities in the platform; measures to improve resilience (Chaos Engineering principles, antifragility) Security & Compliance Active participation in building a Security-by-Design culture: Secrets Management, Network Segmentation, least-privilege RBAC Support with internal and external audits; ensuring compliance with energy law and data protection law requirements (Swiss REMIT, GDPR equivalent CH, ENSI guidelines where relevant) Regular performance of vulnerability assessments; coordination with the security team SAFe & Team Culture Active participation in SAFe ceremonies: PI Planning, System Demo, Inspect & Adapt, Team Iterations Close cooperation with development teams as a platform team in the SAFe context (Enabler Stories, Platform Features) Mentoring of junior engineers and knowledge transfer within the growing team Documentation of operational processes, Architecture Decision Records (ADR), and runbooks Proactive contribution of improvement suggestions — both technical and organizational ? What you bring: Must-haves Completed university degree in computer science, systems engineering, or a comparable field with a focus on infrastructure / distributed systems (Bachelor min., Master preferred) + 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or Cloud Platform Engineer in an ops-near role Sound, practical Terraform knowledge: module development, state management, workspaces, testing (terratest or similar) Experience with Microsoft Azure: architecture, core services, networking, IAM, monitoring Knowledge in Kubernetes operation (AKS or other managed K8s): resource management, troubleshooting, Helm Experience with GitHub and GitHub Actions for CI/CD Modern observability stack: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or comparable tools Strong ops mentality: sense of responsibility for running systems, SLO thinking, post-mortem culture Very good German and English skills - C2 (working language: German) Nice-to-haves Experience with Azure Landing Zone Accelerator or Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) Knowledge of Azure Policy / Defender for Cloud / Microsoft Sentinel Experience in SAFe or another scaled agile framework Background or interest in the energy sector; understanding of regulatory requirements (Swiss REMIT, EnG, StromVG) Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-400, AZ-305) or Terraform Associate Experience with Chaos Engineering (Chaos Monkey, Azure Chaos Studio) and antifragility principles Scripting knowledge: Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks ?
