Aircraft Mechanic

This is the contribution you can make

• Carry out preparatory work for handing over aircraft to pilots and taking them back from them
• Perform intermediate flight checks and re-establishments
• Perform periodic maintenance work and repairs on aircraft
• Participate in training modules abroad
• Contribute as a technical instructor within the troops

This makes you unique

• EFZ as a polymechanic, mechatronic or equivalent training with several years of professional experience, preferably in the aviation environment; strong interest in aviation and its new technologies
• Good competencies in the field of electronics
• Independent action, ability to work in a team and suitability to convey technical know-how
• Physical and psychological resilience, irreproachable reputation (personnel security check)
• Willingness and suitability to perform irregular work assignments, including at night, on weekends and holidays, as well as occasional assignments and training abroad
• Good oral knowledge of a second official language as well as good English skills (level B1)

Your commitment to safety and freedom

The Operations Command (Kdo Op) is responsible for all military operations and deployments of the Swiss Army. Kdo Op includes, among others, the Air Force, the Army, the four territorial divisions, the SWISSINT competence center, the Special Forces Command, and the Military Police. Around 40 % of the approx. 2'500 employees are civilly employed - from engineers to aircraft mechanics to analysts.

The Swiss Army employs over 9'000 employees in four military and around 200 civil professions - and this at 110 locations throughout Switzerland. Provision is also made for new talent: The Swiss Army trains apprentices in over 30 professions.
