The Catholic Church in the Canton of Zürich is active with 41 professional hospital and clinic chaplains in 31 hospitals and clinics in the Canton of Zürich. Due to a change in personnel, we are looking for, as of 1. January 2027 or by arrangement, a committed Psychiatric Chaplain (female/male) for the Psychiatrische Universitätsklinik Zürich, Location Zürich 50-70% The Psychiatrische Universitätsklinik Zürich () ensures the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic care of the residents in the city and the greater Zurich area. The range of services includes the treatment of mental illnesses throughout the entire lifespan. As a university clinic, it is engaged in teaching and research and is very well networked internationally. Main tasks Presence of chaplaincy and individual accompaniment of mentally ill people and their relatives in ecumenical cooperation on all wards (mostly mobile chaplaincy) Interprofessional contacts and cooperation with nursing professionals, doctors, and therapeutic practitioners on the wards Pastoral support for employees Design of rituals and spiritual offerings as needed Regular Sunday services and celebrations during the week in ecumenical consultation Crisis intervention after special events Participation in in-house training sessions and presentations on the topics of chaplaincy, spiritual care, and interprofessional cooperation. Administrative work in ecumenical cooperation and as agreed with the line manager Requirements Completed Catholic theological studies Subject-specific chaplaincy training (CPT or equivalent additional training) If possible, experience in psychiatric chaplaincy Knowledge of psychiatric clinical pictures and willingness to deepen this Own psychological resilience, capacity for empathy, and high self-reflection Interest in integrated chaplaincy and interprofessional cooperation Willingness to work in an interreligious team and at several locations We offer Independent and responsible activity Attractive employment conditions including further training, supervision, retreats at the Römisch-katholische Körperschaft des Kantons Zürich Are you interested?
