Senior Physician: Radiologist (Thoracic and Vascular Imaging)

The University Institute for Diagnostic, Interventional and Pediatric Radiology (DIPR) of the Inselspital Bern covers the entire spectrum of thoracic and vascular imaging in the thoraco-cardiovascular focus area, from interstitial lung diseases and thoracic oncology to vascular diagnostics. A special focus is on the clinical application and scientific development of artificial intelligence in thoracic imaging. Research is an integral part of the position.

What awaits you

• A highly motivated, interdisciplinary team with high clinical and academic expertise as well as state-of-the-art technical equipment, including currently two photon-counting computed tomographs for thoracic and vascular CT diagnostics.
• Protected research time for ongoing projects on AI-based image analysis, ILD quantification, prognostic models, vascular imaging and photon-counting CT, with the possibility to develop your own scientific project under personal mentorship.
• Reporting of the entire thoracic and vascular spectrum, in close cooperation with the interventional disciplines: increasing independence, active role in tumor, ILD and vascular boards
• Structured fellowship curriculum over 2.5 years with the goal of a diploma
• Participation in teaching and further education; service involvement in general radiology from the second year.

What you bring with you

• Medical specialist title in radiology and great interest in thoracic and vascular imaging
• Strong scientific interest in AI-based and quantitative image analysis: programming skills are welcome, but not a prerequisite
• Independent way of working, patient-oriented commitment and teamwork skills
• Good to very good German skills: good English skills are an advantage
