The Invalidenversicherung (IV) is a nationwide mandatory social insurance. It supports insured persons who are threatened by or affected by disability by means of integration measures. This with the goal that the insured persons can secure their livelihood entirely or partially independently. If such (re)integration is not or only partially possible, the IV pays out a (partial) pension.
