August 2027 a Lecturer in Process Design with Module Responsibility 35% – 45% Your tasks We are looking for a personality with an independent design practice as well as teaching experience in process design within the tension field of object, space, human, and environment. In your practice, you combine design, technical, and social issues into sustainable and innovative design concepts. You work interdisciplinarily, in various media, and combine digital and AI-supported design processes with traditional manufacturing and material techniques. As a lecturer Development and implementation of teaching formats for conveying conceptual, methodical, and technical foundations of design processes, involving digital technologies/AI as well as manual processes (incl. co-teaching). Didactically sound guidance of individual work processes, from research through concept development to presentation. Supporting students in the development of a design position and language. Promoting a professionally informed, sustainable, and experimental design practice and a responsible handling of materials and resources. Supervision and mentoring of students in the portfolio process. As a module responsible person Overall responsibility for the content, organizational, and personnel planning, implementation, and further development of the responsible module according to specifications. Lateral leadership of the lecturers and adjunct teaching staff active in the module; in particular ensuring communication, promoting cooperation, and coordinating work assignments. Recruitment of adjunct teaching staff in consultation with the Vorkurs management. Planning and distribution of resources and materials within the module. Ensuring the didactic quality and topicality of the teaching. Quality assurance and qualitative further development of the module, incl. feedback to the lecturers. Participation in the professional, organizational, and personnel further development of the Gestalterischer Vorkurs. Representation of the subject area Process Design in the core team as well as within the Department Design Film Kunst. Active participation in exchange, planning, evaluation, and development forums and participation in strategic issues. Your profile You have a completed university degree (Master or Diploma) in the field of design. You have an independent design practice with professional experience. You know the design scene, are visible in it, and are networked. You have teaching experience at a university or a Gestalterischer Vorkurs. A certificate in higher education didactics can be acquired as part of the employment. You possess strong methodical competencies and are familiar with current concepts of space- and material-based design processes. You are proficient in using digital design and visualization tools (e.g., Onshape, SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot, Figma, Adobe CC) as well as current AI applications. You are experienced in construction, prototype building, and workshop processes with various materials. You master freehand and technical drawing. You are a communicative and reliable personality with strong cooperation and social skills. You think and work interdisciplinarily and enjoy team-oriented cooperation. You possess organizational skills and are experienced in the independent planning and implementation of projects and teaching units. You have very good German language skills.
