Professor for Data Engineering

The Department of Computer Science of the OST comprises three institutes and two degree programs at two locations. For the <<IFS Institut für Software>> (Rapperswil location), we are looking for a Professor for Data Engineering (m/f/d) (80%-100%) as of March 1, 2027, or by arrangement. Professor for Data Engineering Your tasks * You shape and develop the competence area of Data Engineering in teaching and research. * You build up your research team in your specialist area. * You teach at Bachelor and Master levels and supervise student theses. * You independently acquire and process internal and external research and service projects and are involved in external continuing education. Your qualification * You have a university degree in Computer Science, ideally with a doctorate or an outstanding practical track record. * You have a technical specialization in the areas of Data Engineering and Data Science, and you have a multi-year, practice-oriented track record in your field. * You have experience in teaching at the tertiary level, ideally also with an additional pedagogical qualification. * You bring demonstrable experience in project acquisition (industry projects and funded research). * You have a good network in the specialist field and in industry.
