As a Laboratory Technician EFZ Chemistry, you will work in the laboratories of various areas such as Research and Development, Analytics, Synthesis and partly also in Biology. Your task as a Laboratory Technician EFZ Chemistry is to carry out laboratory experiments. In these experiments, you produce and analyze new products. Your tasks also include quality control / analysis of the products from the plants. You create a work plan, procure the required materials and chemicals and decide which apparatus and devices are best suited for the work. Your training The apprenticeship lasts three years. At the beginning of the apprenticeship, you complete a 5-month introductory course in the modern Lonza training laboratory. After that, you go on rotation in the various laboratories of Lonza. In four internships, each lasting five to seven months, you will work in the various departments such as Research & Development, Synthesis, Analytics and Biology. Vocational school lessons are attended for one and a half days per week.
