• Lead the department of Shooting Activities and Non-Service Activities of the army and assume overall responsibility for these areas
• Create favorable conditions throughout Switzerland for the targeted fulfillment of mandates in the areas of non-service shooting activities, non-service activities, and pre-service training

• Monitor the management of allocated credits and decide on the allocation of compensation to associations and organizations
• Lead the SAT militia staff

What makes you unique

• University degree (Bachelor or Master) or equivalent training with several years of professional experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of political contexts and parliamentary processes as well as sound knowledge of non-service organizations, shooting activities, and pre-service training
• Strong negotiation skills, especially when dealing with political authorities and association officials, as well as the ability to lead a team cooperatively and an interest in building and maintaining a network
• Good active knowledge of at least one second official language and passive knowledge of a third official language as well as good English skills
• Willingness to perform duties also on weekends
• Military training as well as very good knowledge of military structures and processes is an advantage

In a nutshell

The organizational unit Shooting Activities and Non-Service Activities (SAT) in the Training Command is responsible for the implementation of the legal foundations. This task includes, in particular, the handling of the administrative tasks of the mandatory and voluntary shooting exercises with ordinance weapons and ordinance ammunition by the recognized shooting clubs. The conduct of non-service training and refresher courses in shooting (junior shooting instructors, shooting masters) is also covered by the SAT.
The area of non-service activities (AT) in the SAT processes applications, is responsible for their approval, and ensures that regulations are complied with. Annually, over 5'000 approved events are carried out with more than 122'000 operational days.
The voluntary pre-service training is intended to prepare young people in selected specialist areas for military service. The VBS determines the specialist areas in which pre-service training courses are conducted.

The Training Command (Kdo Ausb) is responsible for training within the Swiss Army -- from recruitment to general basic training to officer training for the militia and the professional military. The Kdo Ausb includes Higher Officer Training, Army Personnel, five training associations, the Training Center, as well as the Women in the Army and Diversity specialist office.
