You take responsibility for a stable, secure and future-oriented IT operation, lead projects, optimize processes and drive digitalization forward.

Since 1890 we have been the center for people, profession and economy. We offer the Berner Oberland more than education, a lifelong journey. Our vocational school includes 23 professions from the areas of construction, wood, technology, gastronomy, health, social affairs and economy. At our four locations, around 2000 learners are currently being taught by over 140 teachers. To ensure smooth operations in the school, employees work in administration, technical support of the IT infrastructure and in house services.

Your tasks

• Further development and implementation of the ICT and digitalization strategy, taking into account cantonal requirements as well as promoting the digital transformation of the schools
• Leadership of the ICT system administrators, responsibility for the training of learners, advising the school management and representing the bzi in cantonal committees
• Ensuring a reliable, secure and efficient ICT operation as well as the development and optimization of a school-wide service portfolio including Service-Level Agreements (SLA).
• Guaranteeing IT security, risk management and emergency preparedness as well as ensuring structured 1st- and 2nd-level support and access to 3rd-level support
• Planning, controlling and monitoring of ICT projects as well as evaluation and procurement of hardware and software and coordination of external service providers
• Responsibility for the IT budget, cost control and procurement decisions within the framework of the budget as well as organization of training and creation of instructions and learning materials

Your profile

• Higher technical college or Bachelor or higher vocational training with a federal diploma as an ICT Manager, HFP (higher professional examination) or certified Head of IT, deviating training courses are possible
• Several years of leadership experience in IT management as well as sound knowledge in strategic ICT planning, digitalization, project and change management
• Comprehensive technical knowledge in network, server and client management, modern endpoint management solutions, cloud technologies as well as IT security and data protection
• Experience in IT service management, especially with ITIL processes, service desk management as well as agile and classical project management methods
• Experience in budgeting, procurement, supplier and risk management, ideally experience in public administration or in an educational institution
• Analytical and networked way of thinking, structured and independent way of working, initiative as well as willingness for continuous professional further training
