Job Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems for Application Experience, within the Nexthink Infinity platform. Application Experience aims to provide IT and End-User Computing (EUC) teams with complete and real-time visibility into how employees actually experience applications. You will develop key services and infrastructure supporting large-scale data processing, real-time interactions, and integrations between multiple systems. This highly collaborative role requires clear communication, strong technical judgment, and the ability to work effectively with different teams. You will be responsible for important backend components end-to-end, defining technical direction, and making cross-team decisions with minimum supervision. Responsibilities Design, build, and evolve distributed backend systems serving millions of users. Ensure full feature delivery: from design, implementation, deployment, and monitoring. Architect real-time, low-latency backend APIs and services for AI-driven agent pipelines that aggregate platform metrics into executive reports. Develop cloud-native services in Java, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability. Work on infrastructure components, including AWS-based deployments, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS). Build robust APIs and backend services that power AI-driven products and real-time interactions. Ensure resilience, fault tolerance, and compliance in high-throughput environments. Collaborate with product managers, infrastructure engineers, and other teams to deliver production-ready systems. Contribute to technical discussions, share knowledge, and help evolve best practices in backend engineering and infrastructure. Qualifications More than 7 years of professional experience in Java backend engineering. Proficiency in modern Java (17+). Knowledge of Java frameworks (Micronaut, Spring). Proven experience in designing and scaling backend systems for millions of users or high-throughput real-time services. Good understanding of cloud-native architectures (AWS or similar), containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS), and GitOps, CI/CD. Experience with distributed data systems (e.g., Apache Kafka). Experience in performance optimization and scaling in high-throughput environments. Strong experience with high-availability systems, failover, and resilience design. Exposure to LLM integration (prompting, evaluation, observability). Mastery of AI tools for software development. Curious mindset with a desire to learn and adapt. Excellent knowledge of observability practices: logging, monitoring, tracing, metrics. Excellent communication skills in English, able to clearly explain complex technical subjects.
