Technical Buyer (m/f/d)

We are Solifos – a Swiss fiber optic cable manufacturer with 25+ years of experience in fiber optic sensing and tactical communication systems. Our procurement ensures that fibers, jacket materials, connectors, and special parts arrive in production on time. To strengthen our team, we are looking for you: someone who manages the day-to-day business together with our buyer and is eager to develop further beyond that.

Technical Buyer (m/f/d)

Your role

• Together with our existing buyer, you will form the purchasing team and take responsibility for a portion of the suppliers and materials
• You trigger orders, track deadlines, check order confirmations, and follow up with suppliers when things get stuck
• You request quotes, compare them, and negotiate prices and delivery terms in day-to-day business
• You work closely with production, production planning, development, and quality, and understand what lies behind a technical requirement
• You take care of complaints to suppliers
• You maintain supplier and material master data in the ERP and keep the data clean
• Depending on demand, you support procurement for customer projects, and over time, you can also grow into strategic topics such as supplier selection or framework agreements

What you bring

• Commercial or technical basic training, ideally with further training in procurement (e.g., specialist in procurement or comparable)
• Experience in the operational procurement of a manufacturing company is an advantage
• Confident handling of ERP systems (ideally SAP) and MS Office
• Enjoyment of negotiations and a good sense for supplier relationships
• Structured, reliable way of working and team spirit
• Curiosity and the desire to take on responsibility beyond day-to-day business
• Very good German and good English skills
