C&F Senior Trader

Mandatory criteria;
Significant experience in physical trading of grains and oilseeds on a C&F basis, with a demonstrable track record of P&L generation.
Established relationships with counterparties in the relevant origin and destination markets, particularly in Brazil and the Middle East.
In-depth experience of South American and Black Sea origins.
Excellent mastery of physical trading execution, GAFTA/FOSFA contracts, quality arbitrage, and destination basis dynamics.
A solid knowledge of freight markets and voyage economics, as well as significant experience in legal aspects related to freight and corresponding arbitration procedures.
Mastery of futures and derivative products used to hedge firm price and basis risks.
Experience in a regulated banking environment, or failing that, a demonstrated ability to work effectively in such a framework.
Fluent English;
senior and highly experienced profile with at least 20 years of experience.

Mission:
Manage a C&F trading portfolio dedicated to agricultural products, including grains and oilseeds, sugar, cotton, and vegetable oils, with direct responsibility for P&L, positions, and exposures, in compliance with applicable risk limits.
Originate and execute physical cargoes on a C&F basis, managing the entire chain from purchase at origin to delivery at destination.
Structure and negotiate contracts with counterparties, including price terms, quality specifications, and provisions relating to lay time and demurrage.
Manage the freight exposure integrated into the C&F structure, in collaboration with the freight desk on chartering and voyage economics.
Hedge firm price and basis risk exposures using exchange-traded and OTC instruments.
Develop and maintain a network of counterparties in the origin and destination markets.
Work closely with the Operations, Credit, Finance, and Compliance teams to ensure transactions are executed and settled in compliance with the applicable control framework.
Contribute to the desk's market vision and regional origination strategy.

Profile:
Mastery of French or any other language would be an asset.
