What you can contribute

• Ensure the maintenance of Super Puma, Cougar and EC135/635 type helicopters, maintenance level A (to do this, you must understand technical documentation in English, level A2), and restore them to service
• Guarantee flight preparation, perform intermediate checks and restores on systems, hand over aircraft to pilots and take them back after deployment
• Perform work as a flight mechanic and intervene as part of the aerial rescue standby service
• Participate in deployments abroad in the event of a disaster as well as in humanitarian aid and peacekeeping operations
• Participate in the development of instructions and specialized courses intended for the FA

What makes you unique

• Certificate of capacity as a polymechanic or similar basic technical training lasting four years
• Good physical condition and psychological stability to participate in survival training (crash simulations in water or on land)
• Sense of responsibility, team spirit, customer orientation, autonomy and accuracy in work
• Category B driving license (ideally, also C and E), good computer skills (MS-Office/SAP), ideally, basic military instruction (recruit school)
• Very good knowledge of an official language, ideally, mastery of other languages

In a few words

As the Swiss Air Force competence center for helicopters, the Alpnach Air Base command is responsible for ensuring permanent operational availability. It also offers many interesting positions in a cutting-edge technological field. So that the Swiss Army can permanently accomplish its missions in Switzerland and abroad, we ensure the preparation (80 %), maintenance and restoration (20 %) of the Super Puma (TH 06), Cougar (TH 18) and Eurocopter (EC635). We provide subsidiary support to rescue services. We also intervene during rescue operations and in the event of a disaster as well as during humanitarian aid and peacekeeping deployments.

The Operations Command (cdmt Op) is responsible for all operations and all military deployments of the Swiss Army.
